winter white window

This Tuesdays theme for Fabriken was Christmas window. During the summer we use these double-doors that faces the terrace, but when it´s cold and winter like this we keep it closed and I turn it into a cozy relaxing space. The light is great out here and we get the late sun during the afternoon.
The stars hanging from the three is made from glue. I use a glue-gun to draw out the stars on a non-stick surface and when they have dried I use a simple sewing thread to hang them from the three.
I had a really hard time keeping our dog out of the pictures today. He loves to be in the middle of everything and is all about the attention.Or maybe he just wanted to be on camera :-) Happy Tuesday! /Sussi

window decor

I made a couple of brown moss trees and put them on top of some very thin glass candle holders. It gives them a floating look which matches the lanterns. /Sussi

knitted materials and wet boots

The entrance hall is often a cluttered space and especially in winter when we are wearing several layers of clothing and big boots to keep warm, it gets quite chaotic and messy. But I think there is a certain coziness to the soft, warm clothing and thick knitted materials one seem to have an extensive need for when it’s cold. And it does make up for the fact, that the entrance hall is probably the hardest maintainable area during this season.
Ha en fin tisdag. /Annika

decorating with note sheets

This post is the first in a series I'll be posting during the next couple of days about using note sheet paper for decorating and paper craft ideas.
In this project I will make a couple of little note sheet candles. You can find the directions to the project in this printable PDF.
Happy Friday Project! /Annika

mossy snowballs

It's snowing here in Skåne. I always feel like a kid when the first real snow starts to fall. Like waiting for a Christmas present. Getting so exited.
When my sister sent me these pictures this morning, it felt like Christmas Eve. I love how this decoration with the frame in the background almost feels like a painting on the wall. There is such a cozy winter look to these pictures, that you kind of feel like curling up in front of the decoration with a nice hot cup of cocoa for the rest of the day.
A snowy Thursday to you all! /Annika

the go nuts box

One of those things I really like about this season is the foods and smells it brings. I love when the first clementines/satsumas are in store. They have this lemon like sourness, but they are the ones I like the most.  And when you start to find those big piles of walnuts and hazelnuts... you're really starting to feel the season. I like to take all of that with me home.
When you buy clementines, you sometimes get them in a 'not so nice looking' wooden box and even I like to keep stuff (have this idea of turning anything into something usable) most times I just get rid of it. But this year I had THE idea. I wanted to turn it into a usable, but pretty wooden box.

I call it "the go nuts" box.

This was a fairly simple project but I will write a more detailed instruction pdf with pictures later and post here as well. If you have any questions about this project, just ask in the comments for this posts. Happy project! /Annika

feeling blue in the kitchen?

I think you all have a favorite color in your kitchen. I know I have... and its a color that makes me happy and inspires me to be creative. And I love to feel that way...being surrounded by things that inspire me. I like retro charm and things that have a worn look. Things like an old tin makes for a great utensil holder. It adds charm and personality to your kitchen and it is fun to come up with new ways of using old stuff. I think my next project will be about turning old finds into christmas decorations that'll match the kitchen.
